In case of life change, break glass

I've moved on. No longer a supervisor. Now I'm a traveler, living out of a suitcase, visiting new places every week. Thus far, just one place though. I'm still trying to figure out my role, my job. And my colleagues.

It's fun. I'm enjoying it so far, and I've confronted a source or two of frustration along the way, which is good. Living out of hotel rooms without a car, for instance. A challenge.

Spending time in a different work environment's enjoyable. I wish I felt like I was personally accomplishing something though, felt like I was more than just an observer, a hanger-on. We did some brainstorming last week, which was the best part so far, although I am not sure what we came up with will be used. Now I'm following my two colleagues around, trying to learn what they do and why, and get into the meat of the information they deal with, and negotiate the corporate politics virtually so it's less of an issue when I do it personally.

Any photography I have planned is completely up in the air. Guess that's for the best. Not sure I'm particularly well-regarded among the local folks, and for no particularly good reason either. So I don't mind all the time off.
