New year, same urgent problems.

We like to think that a calendar change makes a big difference. It's a conceit and a form of magical thinking.

Confirmation bias.  Rhetorical blather.  Wishing doesn't make anything so. We don't know anything, but we are happy to believe anything especially our own press.  Kool aid...

These 2012 lessons will still apply in 2013.  You and I will continue making excuses not to demand total change, starting with ourselves. 

And exporting the costs of these delusions to the world, nature, and children.
